“Making Fukuoka Beautiful with Green Tea.”
“Making Fukuoka Beautiful with Green Tea.”
application closed Fukuoka“Coastline in Front of Okitsu Shrine Remote Worship Site”
The coastal waters surrounding the UNESCO World Heritage site “The Sacred Island of Okinoshima and Associated Sites in the Munakata Region” are subjected to large amounts of marine debris daily. This is due to the natural conditions like the Tsushima Current, topography, and seasonal winds, which bring debris from both domestic and international sources. These marine wastes not only harm the beautiful landscapes and wildlife of Fukuoka Prefecture but also interfere with the livelihoods of the fishermen in the Munakata region who have long protected and passed down the faith related to Okinoshima, the “Island Where Gods Dwell.”
To address this issue, we invite you to join us in this environmental preservation activity Under the slogan “Preserving World Heritage and Beautiful Seas for the Future,” Your participation will be a step toward protecting Fukuoka’s precious nature and cultural heritage.
