“Making Kyoto Beautiful with Green Tea.”

The “hinoki bark” that forms the roofs of temples and shrines is being replanted to protect the hinoki trees. This time, we will clear the undergrowth that hinders the growth of the young trees and conduct activities to preserve the cypress forest. Participants will also learn how to make hiwadabuki hiwadabuki bark, and will have the opportunity to learn about traditional culture.

Terms of Application

・In case of heavy rain, environmental learning and craft activities will be held at the visitor center.
・Participation is available for individuals aged junior high school and above.
・The maximum number of participants are set. If the number of applicants is over the capacity, the participants will be selected by lottery. The details of the activities will be announced to the winners.
・The event may be canceled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
・Participants are responsible for their own transportation expenses to and from the meeting point.
