“Making Tokushima Beautiful with Green Tea.”

activity reports Tokushima

We conducted a cleanup and observation activity of the endangered species “Uca arcuata” (fiddler crab) at Yoshino River.

The Yoshino River, one of the largest rivers in Shikoku that flows into the Seto Inland Sea, is home to the endangered Uca arcuata, which has been registered as a species at risk of extinction. In Tokushima Prefecture, efforts have been ongoing to observe and protect the Uca arcuata.

Through this cleanup activity, we aimed to raise awareness of the Uca arcuata, which can only be found in pristine estuaries, while contributing to the conservation of the Seto Inland Sea’s rich environment, also known as the “Sato-umi” of Tokushima.
